Meet Our CEO
Born and raised in the DMV, Kristen Pugh is a creator, educator, mentor, and entrepreneur whose passion for baking has inspired countless celebrations and opportunities throughout the community.
As the Founder, CEO, and Lead Cake Artist of The Cake Studio, Kristen specializes in creating custom cakes, cupcakes, and edible art designed to make life’s most meaningful moments unforgettable. Her attention to detail, artistic vision, and commitment to excellence have helped transform The Cake Studio into a trusted destination for luxury desserts and celebration experiences.
Outside of the bakery, Kristen is dedicated to serving others. She works as an educator supporting exceptional children on the autism spectrum and is the Founder and Executive Director of The Bake Program DC, a nonprofit organization that teaches youth baking, entrepreneurship, creativity, and life skills through hands-on experiences.
As a mother, mentor, creative director, and community leader, Kristen believes baking is about more than desserts—it’s about creating memories, building confidence, and bringing people together. Whether she’s designing a one-of-a-kind cake, teaching a new skill, or empowering the next generation of creators, her mission is rooted in service, creativity, and impact.
